Think of a secluded and spectacular holiday escape…
Niseko is a natural perfection of crystal white powder snow, natural hot springs, striking nature, a Japanese cultural experience and delightful cuisine.
The area appeals to both sports-lovers looking for action and leisure-seekers with a thirst for tranquillity.
Niseko is regarded as one of Japan’s top two resorts and the most international with English-speaking staff.
The region is rated the second snowiest in the world by Forbes Traveller with falls of up to 15 metres and its champagne powder has water content of just 8%. The five-month winter sports season runs from the end of December to early May.
Higashiyama is part of Niseko’s largest ski area which also includes Grand Hirafu, Annupuri and Hanazono, where a single lift ticket provides access to more than 48 km of ski runs serviced by 38 lifts. A total of nine ski-fields are within one-hour’s drive.
All four resorts are inter-skiable by riding lifts to the top of the peak and skiing down to the next resort. Regular shuttle buses linking the resorts make it easy for beginners to experience Niseko’s enormous variety.
Local infrastructure is in excellent condition with modern ski lifts and well planned resorts while snowboarders are well catered for with half pipes and parks.
